those wishing to make an event into a unique experience. The research
station provides prime facilities for courses and conferences, as well as
for accommodation. It is an extraordinary location for participants wishing
to combine professional meetings with spectacular encounters of nature.
Cultural events in the region lend themselves to be incorporated into
special events.

During a visit at Runde Environmental Centre it is natural to experience the
ecosystem the island is part of, and the research station offers insights
into current and exciting research on sustainable development.

The centre’s international research setting provides guests with the
opportunity to discover the environment by visiting the information centre
or meeting enthusiastic researchers from across the world. During a work
break one may want to enjoy the sight of thousands of sea birds or the
magical sounds of the open ocean with breaking waves against the wild shores
of the island.

As part of a meeting, fishing trips or bird watching adventures can be arranged.

In addition, a stay at Runde is easily combined with a visit to the art
nouveau town of Ålesund, or the world’s most beautiful fjord Geiranger
(UNESCO Natural Heritage Site). Meetings and seminars at Runde Environmental
Centre may include events and special excursions, and also be a part of conferences in the area, e.g. in Ålesund.
