Spawning herring weight: 30 times the Norwegian
population
ICES (International Council for the Exploration
of the Sea) estimated the spawning stock biomass
of Norwegian Spring Spawning herring to around
10.3 million tonnes in 2006. Read

Ground for this stock is on the continental
shelf off
Runde. The total weight of the spawning
herring equals approximately the weight of
140 million
people with an average weight of 70 kilograms
each.
